This project was undertaken whilst at Johns Associates Ltd. We were commissioned to undertake a Landscape Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) and develop a Landscape Masterplan with sections and visualisations to support a planning application for the enhancement of a golf driving range facility at the golf club.

An important consideration was the sensitivity of the setting in the New Forest National Park and to respond positively in landscape and ecological terms to create a significant enhancement to the existing site.

The proposals included an extension of the existing driving range facility located within the New Forest National Park with extensive remodelling of the existing landform required.

Following our initial appointment, the scope of the proposals was extended to include a 9-Hole Academy Course and Short Game Green. Collectively, these enhancements form part of the ‘Georgia Hall Academy’.

We led the ‘visioning’ on this sensitive site, including a cut and fill exercise and coordinating the landscape strategy with the wider project team comprising planning, ecology, hydrology, and arboriculture.

The application received a positive response from the LPA (New Forest National Park Authority) and planning approval was received in September 2025.
