JRH LANDSCAPE was founded by Jason Holmes CMLI in 2026.

He is a fully qualified landscape architect with over 30 years’ experience including a dual qualification in Urban Design.

At JRH LANDSCAPE, we can provide landscape planning, design and management expertise across all aspects and sectors of construction and the environment, covering project stages from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and implementation.

We see Landscape Architecture not just as a standalone discipline, but one that is fully integrated with both the natural and built environment and regularly work collaboratively with architects, planners, ecologists and engineers etc.

Landscape Architecture plays a crucial role in shaping healthy, resilient, and inspiring environments. At its core, it blends ecology, design, and the human experience, creating outdoor spaces that are both functional and beautiful. When done well, it can measurably improve everyday life by influencing the design of outdoor spaces that support wellbeing, biodiversity, and community cohesion.

Today, it is increasingly important to help our outdoor spaces adapt to climate change through sustainable planting, smart drainage systems, and green infrastructure.

Importantly, landscape architecture plays a key role in the restoration of damaged or vulnerable ecosystems, enhancing wildlife habitats, and helping to make our outdoor spaces greener, cooler, and more liveable.

Beyond its environmental value, landscape architecture also brings an artistic dimension to the design of our outdoor spaces — transforming urban, domestic and natural spaces meaningfully; providing spaces that delight, occasionally shock, enrich or just provide a wonderful backdrop to everyday life.

Our first task on any project is to fully understand the client’s vision and needs which is critical for the success of any project large or small.

We are a registered practice of the Landscape Institute and regularly provide the following services to our clients:

• Visioning and masterplanning

• Landscape design at all RIBA work stages from inception to completion

• Green infrastructure strategies

• Hard landscape detailing and planting design

• Landscape maintenance and management plans (eg LEMPs)

• Contract administration and quality control of works on site
