Working on behalf of Salisbury City Council (and undertaken whilst at Indigo Landscape Architects), this project saw the creation of the first new cemetery for the city in over 100 years and was designed as a multi-faith cemetery on a greenfield site to the north-east of the city near Wilton.

Inputs included initial concept design, planning approval and detailed design and implementation.

The design included various zones requiring careful and sensitive design response to create an attractive and restful environment for visitors allowing space for reflection.

The cemetery design included a new car park with entrance gates, a centrepiece pavilion and a network of new paths with seating areas set within a new landscape framework of hedges, trees and wildflower areas.

The design won a Salisbury Civic Society Design Award.

The cemetery is now fully operational
