This project was undertaken whilst at Johns Associates on behalf of Spring Che Ltd to assist with the delivery of a solar farm for this site comprising a ground based Photovoltaic (PV) solar farm development at Foxwalks Farm, Grafton Lane, Upton Warren, Bromsgrove.

The proposals include a new substation, associated access and temporary works compound.

The project was landscape-led and included opportunities for landscape and ecological mitigation and enhancement within the Site including the retention of the eastern part of one of the fields that would be used to provide Skylark habitat.

Our role was to undertake a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment combined with a coordinated landscape and ecological masterplan and ecological inputs including EcIA.

The LVIA assessed the potential impact of the solar farm development along with a comprehensive suite of landscape and biodiversity enhancements.

These inputs helped the client realise their vision to create a pioneering project delivering renewable energy, significant ecological benefits and a continuation of farming practice, providing an example of how agriculture, clean energy and wildlife can thrive side-by-side.

Full planning approval was granted in July 2024, and the project is currently under construction.
