In the UK, landscape and visual impact support spans a full spectrum of services, from formal EIA‑level Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) through to ‘lighter’, proportionate landscape and visual appraisals and early‑stage advisory work.

At the EIA end, we can provide GLVIA3‑compliant assessments, including baseline landscape character studies, viewpoint photography, ZTV/visibility mapping, receptor sensitivity analysis, significance evaluation, and design‑led mitigation strategies. These are used for major developments where significant environmental effects must be formally assessed.

For projects not requiring EIA, we offer Landscape & Visual Appraisals (LVA) and Townscape/Visual Appraisals, delivering proportionate baseline analysis, viewpoint selection, cumulative effects review, and practical mitigation advice to support planning applications for developments such as residential schemes or solar farms.

Across all project scales, we can provide general landscape and visual advice, including feasibility studies, visual scoping, early identification of constraints, and an understanding of the landscape context and its sensitivities. This typically involves reviewing landscape character, landscape designations and planning policy, visibility mapping, and photographic analysis to help inform early design iterations, masterplanning, and design refinement.
